Unboxing the Antminer K7

• Here is how you will receive the Antminer K7 in a typical Bitmain box from Crypto Miner Bros.
  
• As you open the box, you will find the entire ASIC wrapped in an antistatic bag, as shown in the image.
  
• The entire ASIC is safely padded with thick foam pieces for better protection in shipping.
  
• The Antminer K7 currently comes in two different looks. One is the same as the typical Antminer series, as shown in the following picture.
  
• The other one comes with a protective metal cover, as shown in the following picture.
  

Now, let’s move on to the actual setting up process.

Step-by-step guide for Setting up the Antminer K7

1.  Preparing the ASIC

• Place your Antminer K7 on a flat surface and in a well-ventilated place, as the machine will release heat. Also, ensure you have a network connection in that area, as ASICs don’t support wifi.
• The power requirements of any ASIC miner are relatively high, over 3000W. Thus, the regular home power setup won’t work. You need a dedicated power infrastructure for your ASIC miner.
  
• Partner with a certified electrician and get an L6-30 receptacle, 30 amps 240V PDU, and circuit installed to run your Antminer K7.
  
• Ensure the circuit panel and the breaker are compatible with running the ASIC miner.
• The Antminer K7 requires two sets of C-13 to C-14 power cables to power the miner. Ensure you get 14 gauge C-13 to C-14 cables, as the cable should withstand the heat generated by the ASIC. (These cables won’t come with ASIC; you must buy them separately.)
  
• Plug the Ethernet cable into the miner, as no wifi support is available in the ASIC.
  
• Now, plug the two C13 and C14 power cables into the ASIC miner.
  
• Ensure all plugs are tight and there are no loose connections. Now, you are all set to start the Antminer K7.

2. Configuring the ASIC

• Once the power supply is on, the ethernet light should come on.
  
• Now, the next step is to get the IP address of Antminer K7.
• Go to the website called Advance IP Scanner. It is a free program software that gives you ASIC’s IP address.
  
• Alternatively, you can log in to your router to get the IP address.

3. Accessing the Antminer K7 via the Web Browser

• As you enter the IP address in the browser, a window will appear asking for a username and password.

• As you log in, you can access the web GUI of Antminer K7.
  

4. Adding the Mining Pool

• Now, go to the settings page and set up the mining pool, wallet address, and password.
• You can check Mining Pool Stats to choose the mining pool to mine Nervos. You can research and select the pool according to your mining preferences. Let’s take NiceHash for demonstration purposes. Go to the Nice Hash’s algorithms page and pick the Eaglesong algorithm.
  
• Copy the mining pool address and paste it on the mining address on the settings page.
  
• Some mining pools have backup pools. You can copy those addresses and paste them into pool2 and pool3. Thus, even if one pool is down, you can mine it on another.
• Now, you will need the miner’s name. That is nothing but the mining address of your NiceHash account, which you can create readily.
  
• Go ahead and paste the copied address into the miner’s name on the settings page.
  
• Now, enter the worker’s name (any name of your choice) separated by a period. You can paste the same on all three tabs.
  
• You can give the password as x for all three tabs. Change the mode to Normal and hit save.
  
• That’s it. Your Antminer K7 is now connected to the Bitcoin mining pool.

5. Start Mining

• The ASIC will start mining immediately.
• You can check the Antminer’s dashboard after a few minutes to know the mining status. The mining process should have started.
  
• You can check the Antminer K7 is mining at the maximum hash rate of around 63.5Th/s.
