How to Setup Goldshell E-KA1M?
Here is a step-by-step guide for setting up Goldshell E-KA1M with detailed instructions and images.
Preparing the ASIC
Place the ASIC in a ventilated area in your house to better exhaust the heat generated during the crypto mining process. However, Goldshell E-KA1M is compact, less noisy, and supports Wi-Fi so
that you can place it anywhere in your house.
Firstly, connect the power supply to your ASIC.
Next, plug in the ethernet cable. Once you can access the web GUI of your Goldshell E-KA1M, you can configure your WI-FI and unplug the ethernet cable.
Now, turn on the ASIC by switching on the power button.
You can see the lights blinking once the ASIC is turned on.
Configuring the ASIC
Now, it’s time to find the IP address of your Goldshell E-KA1M so that you can access its web GUI.
You can get the IP address with either of the following steps.
You can use the free program software called Advanced IP Scanner which you can download to get your miner’s IP address.
The Advanced IP Scanner software automatically scans the IP address of your ASIC miner.
Alternatively, you can log in to your router and get the IP address.
Let’s take Advanced IP Scanner for illustration here. You can copy the scanned address from the software.
The host name of Goldshell is qsdk. You can copy the IP address.
Accessing the Goldshell E-KA1M via the Web Browser
Enter the copied address on the web browser.
It will take you to the web GUI of the Goldshell E-KA1M.
Go to the Miner page. Click on the “unlock button” on the top right of the page.
As you click on the unlock button, it will ask for a password. Enter “123456789” as password.
Once you unlock, you can find the add option on the top right of the page.
Adding the Mining Pool
When you click on the “Add button,” you will be able to add the pool, miner name, and password.
Before adding the mining pool, you will need a Kaspa wallet. The receiving address of your Kaspa wallet is the miner name in the Web GUI. Copy and paste the address into your miner name.
Ensure you add a worker name of your choice at the end of the miner name, separated by a period. For instance, here, the worker name is eka1m.
Almost all mining pools support Kaspa mining. You can check the Mining Pool Stats to find a suitable Kaspa mining pool.
Let’s take the Kryptex pool for illustration here.
You can see the Kaspa option on the Kryptex page. Click on the “start mining” button.
As you click on the button, you will find the mining pool options for various locations worldwide. You can choose the common global location and copy that mining pool address.
Paste the copied address into the web GUI. You can add any password of your choice. Hit apply.
It will take you to the page below.
It is highly recommended that you add the mining pool address for other locations as backups.
Adding backup pools will help you swap around the pools depending on your location. Plus, you can also remove pools if needed by clicking on the remove button.
You can also change the miner setting mode from the drop-down menu, as shown below.
You can choose the low-power mode if you want and hit apply. In that case, the ASIC will operate on a hash rate of 3.8Th/s and power consumption of 1100W.
Start Mining Kaspa
The Goldhsell E-KA1M will be mining Kaspa immediately. You can check the mining status in real time by pasting your wallet address.
