• Remove the foams and place the ASIC on a flat surface like this.

Things to Consider Before Setting Up Your Bitmain Antminer L9

• You will need a dedicated power infrastructure to operate your Bitmain Antminer L9. Hence, ensure you have a 240V, 30A circuit, and a Power Distribution Unit (PDU).
• Besides, ensure you have an appropriate circuit to support your ASIC. Partner with a certified electrician and get your 240V 30A circuits ready.

• Bitmain Antminer L9 comes with a power plug. This power plug varies depending on your location. For those who ordered from North America, the power plug will look something like this.

• The next thing you need is a dedicated wired internet connection, as Bitmain Antminer L9 doesn’t have wifi support like most ASICs. Make sure you have a hard wire ethernet cable, as the ASIC will generate a large amount of heat.
• You can have exhaust fans installed in your mining area to vent all the heat generated by the ASIC during the crypto-mining process. The below exhaust fan starts automatically when the temperature is too hot.

How to Setup Bitmain Antminer L9?

Here are step-by-step instructions for setting up Bitmain Antminer L9.

Preparing the ASIC

• Plug the ethernet cable into your ASIC miner.

• Plug one end of the power cable into the ASIC. The new P-13 connector for Bitmain Antminer L9 comes with colors. You need to line up the colors and ensure the green is at the top left before plugging in the ASIC.

• The cable might be a little hard to insert. Ensure you do it carefully by holding the back of the ASIC.
• Plug the other end of the cable into the PDU like this.

• Now, the ASIC will turn on with a loud noise and lights blinking.

Configuring the ASIC

• The next step is to find the IP address of your Bitmain Antminer L9. You can get the IP address using either of the following steps.

~ You can use the free program software called Advanced IP Scanner to get your miner’s IP address.
~ Alternatively, you can log in to your router and get the IP address.
~ Here, let’s take the advanced IP scanner for illustration. The software automatically scans your IP address. You can copy that address.

Accessing the Bitmain Antminer L9 via the Web Browser

• Now, paste the copied IP address into the web browser.

• It will take you to the page asking for a username and password. The default username and password is “root.”
• As you sign in, you can access the web GUI of Bitmain Antminer L9.

Adding the Mining Pool

• Before adding the mining pool details, you would need a dedicated crypto wallet to store the cryptocurrencies you mine. It is highly recommended to use a cold storage wallet as the private keys are stored offline. Thus, they are more secure than hot wallets.
• Now, go to the settings page. You will find the options to add the mining pool, worker’s name, and password.

• If you’re not sure which mining pool to add, you can check the MiningPoolStats.Stream. You can pick any mining pool of your choice. Here, let’s take Kryptex for illustration.
• You can find the Litecoin/Dogecoin option listed. Select it and click on the “Start Mining” button.

• Upon clicking, you will have access to the mining pool addresses. You can copy that address.

• Now, go back to the settings page. Paste the copied mining pool address into the mining address field. Ensure you add stratum+tcp before the mining address.

• You can copy the backup pool addresses and paste them into pool2 and pool3. Thus, even if one mining pool goes down, you can continue mining with the other pools.
• Now, you can add your wallet address to your miner’s name. You can add your worker’s name to the wallet address, separated by a period. Here the worker’s name is L901, as you see below.

• You can copy the miner’s name and paste it on the next two tabs.

• Next is the password. You can give any password. Here it is, “X.”
• Now, change the mode to “Normal.”

• Once you have entered all the details, hit the “Save” button

Start Mining

• Your Bitmain Antminer L9 will start mining in a couple of minutes.
• You can check the mining status in real time on its dashboard.
