SUMMARY
The Iceriver AE0 mining the zkSNARK algorithm has a maximum hash rate of 60Mh/s at a power consumption of only 100W. Weighing around 2.5 kgs, Iceriver AE0 gives an excellent energy efficiency of 1.67 j/Mh.
Its compact size, lightweight, and reduced noise level of 45 dB make the Iceriver AE0 ideal for mining Aleo from anywhere. The setup process is pretty straightforward for Iceriver AE0. It is a simple plug-and-play type ASIC that almost anyone can do by themselves.
This handy setup guide will detail the entire setup process with step-by-step instructions and relevant images that you can quickly refer to.
Unboxing Iceriver AE0
- You will receive your Iceriver AE0 in a thick cardboard box, safely padded with foam pieces on top and bottom to prevent any damage and ensure safe shipment.
- The foam comes with a separate compartment for the power supply and the ASIC, for your ease.
- It is not certain whether the future models will come with a power supply. Here, there was no power supply that came along with the ASIC.
- A 120V, 2.5-inch barrel laptop battery adapter like the one in the picture below is used here as a power supply.
- It is plugged into the regular North American 110V as shown below.
- You can get a bigger power supply, like 180, 220, or 300W. Getting a power supply for this ASIC is highly recommended, as it may have an overclock in the future. It is better to have an appropriate power supply, as we don’t want to burn up anything.
- There is a dedicated Ethernet connection as well.
- The ASIC also has Wi-Fi capability. However, the Wi-Fi has not yet been optimized for the ASIC. The Iceriver company will soon be releasing its firmware update for Wi-Fi optimization. You can download and install it directly from the manufacturer’s website.
How to Setup Iceriver AE0?
Here is a quick setup guide for the Iceriver AE0 with step-by-step instructions and relevant images.
1. Preparing the ASIC
- Carefully remove the ASIC and place it on a flat surface. Ensure that the place has enough ventilation, as the ASIC will release a large amount of heat.
- Plug in the power cable to your Iceriver AE0.
- Next, plug the Ethernet cable into the ASIC.
- Though Iceriver AE0 has Wi-Fi support, you will need to have an Ethernet cable initially to set up the ASIC.
- Once you connect the power supply cable and Ethernet cable to the ASIC, the ASIC will turn on in a few seconds.
2. Configuring the ASIC
~ The next step is to find your Iceriver AE0’s IP address. Then, you can access its web GUI and configure the wallet, worker name, and mining pool.
~ You can use a regular PC or laptop that uses the same internet connection as your Iceriver AE0.
~ You can get the IP address using either of the following steps.
- You can use the free program software called Advanced IP Scanner to get your miner’s IP address.
- Alternatively, you can log in to your router and get the IP address.
- It’s handy to use Advanced IP Scanner. The software automatically scans your IP address.
- Copy the IP address of your Iceriver AE0.
3. Accessing the Iceriver AE0 via the Web Browser
- Enter the copied IP address in a web browser.
- It will navigate to the screen asking for a username and password. Enter “admin” as username and “12345678” as password. It is the default username and password.
- As you log in, you can access the web GUI of your Iceriver AE0.
4. Adding the Mining Pool
- Go to the Mining Setting page to add the mining pool, worker name, and password.
- Choosing the mining pool comes next. You can check miningpoolstats.stream to select the mining pool for Aleo mining. As of now, only Whalepool supports Iceriver AE0.
- Next, you will need a crypto wallet to store your Aleo coins. You can use any wallet of your choice. Here, let’s take the Leo wallet.
- Go to the Whalepool website. You can copy the mining pool closest to your geographic location and paste it into the first field. You can use the rest of the mining pools as backup.
- Here, the middle one is the mining pool for the US location. Let’s copy that and paste it into the pool 1 tab.
- Next, copy the mining pools for the European location. Paste them into the pool 2 field.
- Lastly, copy the mining pool address for the Asia location and paste it into the pool 3 tab.
- We’re adding three mining pools, so even if the primary mining pool goes down, you can mine using the other two mining pools.
- The next section is to fill in the wallet address. You can copy the Leo wallet address and paste it into all three fields.
- Then you need to add a period followed by a worker’s name. Here, the worker’s name is AE0. We added this worker’s name just to distinguish it at the pool level.
- The password for all three fields is “x.” Once you enter all the details, hit save.
5. Start Mining Aleo
- Within a few minutes, you can see your Iceriver AE0 mining Aleo. You can see the mining status right on your dashboard. If not, try restarting your ASIC.
- Ensure you check the Iceriver’s website for firmware updates. The recent firmware will help optimize the settings and enable Wi-Fi.
