How to Setup Bitmain Antminer S21+?

What’s Inside the Shipment Box?

• The Bitmain Antminer S21+ arrives in a thick cardboard box with protective foam padding at the top and bottom to ensure safe transport.

• The ASIC miner is wrapped securely in an anti-static bag, preventing any scratches or electrostatic damage.

• Once unpacked, place the ASIC on a flat surface in a well-ventilated area, ideally a space like a garage or basement with exhaust ventilation due to the heat it generates.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Setting Up the Bitmain Antminer S21+

1. Preparing the ASIC

• The Antminer S21+ consumes between 3564W, so a standard residential power outlet will not suffice.

• You will need a 220-227V 30A electrical circuit, preferably installed by a certified electrician.

• You will also need a compatible 220V 30A Power Distribution Unit (PDU) to run this ASIC efficiently.
  

• The unit comes with a P-13 to C-20 power cable, which connects from the PDU to the ASIC.

• Now, insert the ethernet cable into the miner.

• Connect a wired ethernet cable (Wi-Fi is not supported) to your miner. Ensure it’s a durable cable, resistant to heat.

• Attach one end of the power cable to the ASIC and firmly tighten it until it clicks.

• Connect the other end to the PDU.

• Once powered, the ASIC will automatically turn on, and you’ll hear the fan noise along with blinking indicator lights.

2. Configuring the ASIC

• The Antminer S21+ displays the IP address directly on its screen, so you don’t need an IP scanner or to access your router.

• Note down the displayed IP address.
• Once inside the web GUI, navigate to the Settings tab (top left in the web interface), this is where you’ll enter your mining pool address, miner name (e.g., Username.WorkerName), and an optional password.

3. Accessing the Antminer S21+ via the Web Browser

• Open a browser and enter the IP address you noted. You’ll be directed to a login screen. The default username and password is “root.”

• Once inside, you can access the full control panel or web GUI of your Antminer S21+.

4. Adding the Mining Pool

• You’ll need to connect your miner to a Bitcoin mining pool. Visit miningpoolstats.stream to explore popular pools. For illustration, let’s use ViaBTC.

• Click on ViaBTC, sign up for an account, and log in.

• Click on the Pool tab, then navigate to the Dashboard.

• Scroll down to find the stratum URL. Copy this address.

• Return to the Antminer web GUI, click on the Settings tab, and paste the copied address in Pool 1.

• Set up backup pools using the other listed ports like Port 25 and Port 443 in Pool 2 and Pool 3 respectively.

• Enter your Miner Name (mining pool account name) followed by a dot and a worker name.

• You can find your worker name under the Workers tab in the mining pool dashboard.

• Set the password field to anything (commonly “x”).

• Switch the setup mode to Normal, then hit the Save button.

5. Start Mining

• The Antminer S21+ is loud, running around 76 decibels, so it’s best kept in a sound-isolated room or mining setup.

• At startup, the power consumption may spike, but it settles down within 10 minutes.

• The real-time hash rate is displayed on the GUI dashboard and will fluctuate slightly during mining.
