We read the current network difficulty, hashrate, block height and BTC price from mempool.space and refresh them every 10 minutes. On average a block takes difficulty x 4,294,967,296 hashes, so your average time to a block is that number divided by your hashrate. The chance within a period is 1 minus e to the power of (minus the period divided by that average time). Each block is a fresh draw: past mining time does not raise your chances. The reward shown is the block subsidy only; the winner also gets that block's fees, minus the pool fee. Power cost assumes the miner runs 24 hours a day, 30.4 days a month.
The Bitcoin network finds about 144 blocks a day. Each one pays a fixed subsidy plus the fees of the transactions inside it, and the whole reward goes to whoever found it.
Your share of the network hashrate is your chance for each block. A home miner holds a tiny share, so a win is rare, but the prize is the full block, not a small slice of it.
Buy a solo miner for the long shot, to learn mining hands-on, and to add your hashrate to Bitcoin. Do not buy one expecting it to pay for itself.

A small SHA-256 miner, such as a Bitaxe, NerdQaxe or Avalon Nano, that you point at a solo pool. Instead of earning tiny daily payouts in a shared pool, every hash is a ticket for the whole block reward. If your miner finds a block, you keep the block subsidy plus fees, minus the pool fee.
Very small. At today's network difficulty a miner of a few TH/s would, on average, need thousands of years to find a block, and the odds are the same every day no matter how long you have been mining. Use the live calculator on this page to see the odds for each miner with current network data. Treat it as a lottery ticket that also teaches you how mining works, not as income.
From about 13 W to 1,674 W across the miners on this page; the power of every model is in the comparison table. A 15 W miner running all month uses about 11 kWh. Put your electricity price into the calculator to see the monthly cost.
The PSU column in the comparison table shows it for each miner, taken from the same product data as the "PSU Included" badge on each product page.
Any solo pool works; Public Pool, Solo CKPool and Braiins Solo are common choices. Enter the pool's address in your miner's settings and use your own Bitcoin address as the username, so a block reward is paid straight to you.
Yes. These are standard SHA-256 miners, so you can point them at any Bitcoin pool and get small, regular payouts instead of a long-shot block. At a few TH/s those payouts are tiny, which is why most owners choose solo mining.
Most desk models are rated around 35 to 45 dB, about the level of a quiet room or a desk fan. The Avalon Q is rated 45 to 65 dB. The noise rating of each model is in the comparison table.
Yes. Several Bitaxe and Avalon Nano class miners have found full blocks on solo pools; the examples on this page link to each block and a news report. They are rare, and past wins do not change anyone's future odds.
We typically dispatch in-stock units within 48 hours after payment (times are estimates and may vary). We accept cryptocurrency and bank transfer (wire); we do not accept cash or credit/debit cards.
It depends on the model and is listed in the specifications on each product page. Please check it there before you order, or ask our support team.
